“One of the things that’s helped me in my recovery is taking every day one day at a time and and I’m a firm believer of starting the day right with an inspirational quote and sort of a morning mediation,” The X-Factor judge explains of the concept.

Demi has been open about her struggles since completing a three-month inpatient treatment for self-mutilation and an eating disorder in 2010.

According its website, the book is a “powerful 365-day collection of Demi’s most honest, brave and hopeful insights. Here are her own words, with quotes that inspire her, as well as personal reflections and goals.”

Staying Strong will be available on November 19th. Will you pick up a copy?

You’ve seen the spread, now watch what it takes to actually get Kim Kardashian into golden grills.

CR Fashion Book has released a video of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star – then eight-months into her pregnancy with daughter North West – posing for Karl Lagerfeld for her spread for the third issue of Carine Roitfeld‘s fashion publication.

In the clip, fashion designer Riccardo Tisci is seen directing Kardashian as her mother, Kris Jenner, chats with Lagerfeld.

AMC late Tuesday canceled its low-rated series The Killing for a second time.

“We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with a fourth season of The Killing,” the network said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We want to thank our great partners at Fox Television Studios, creator Veena Sud, an extraordinary cast and the dedicated fans who watched.”

Ratings for the Emmy-nominated show dropped significantly after it failed to wrap up its “Who killed Rosie Larsen?” storyline in season 1, ultimately leading to its cancellation the following year. It was revived after the network struck a deal with FTVS, AMC and Netflix, which made way for a brand-new case and cast of characters.

This year’s Toronto International Film Festival did not mess around when it came to pulling in Hollywood’s biggest names. Fortunately, the celebs treated the Canadian red carpet as a warm-up to awards season.

Marion Cotillard rocked Dior (natch), Reese Witherspoon looked adorable in Jason Wu, and Sandra Bullock hasn’t aged a friggin day.

Game Of Thrones

Much can be said about the gravitas that the Game of Thrones cast continues to bring to the series. We’ve seen these characters evolve throughout the last three seasons and we have become incredibly invested in their respective paths. While it is quite safe to assume that characters like Tyrion, Jon Snow and possibly Stannis (who now heads North) are set to have a more definitive role this season, we can also make the assumption that characters falling under House Stark, House Lannister and other major houses (as well as the events across the Narrow Sea) are also bound to feature quite prominently.

I’m sure some central plots will take a backseat to more pivotal events this time around but I am really hoping to see a whole lot more of certain individuals, some of whom were introduced as early as last season, and how their increasing role will impact the narrative of this upcoming season. Here’s a list of those I haven’t seen enough of, those I can’t seem to get enough of and those who I simply hope will continue to stir things up in Westeros.

I haven’t met one person who doesn’t like ABC’s hit show Modern Family. It has won 18 Primetime Emmy Awards in total and has only been on the air for four seasons. That is pretty impressive. The reason this show is so successful, I think, is because it is extremely well written and the character developments mirror real life. We have watched the Dunphey children grow up before our eyes and it reminds us of when we were young and how we felt about our parents, however coddling or distant they might have been.

I think we all secretly wish our parents were more like Phil and Claire Dunphy. Controlling, but not too overbearing. Funny, but not too embarrassing. Motivational, but not forceful. As great of a character as Claire is, I’d like to focus, if I could, on Phil. There is no denying that Phil is a family man. He’s a fabulous husband, the sole breadwinner (until recently), and loves his children to the fullest extent. The Dunphy children are lucky as all hell to have as involved a father as they do, though they often misinterpret his awesomeness as lame and an attempt to appear relatable as the “cool parent”.

Is it true? Yes, at times. Phil often tries to seem like the more appealing parent, but not because he is intimidated by the natural bond between mother and child, but because of his relationship with his own father. Watching Phil and his father is like watching everything about a perfect upbringing in one minute. Phil is an excellent father because his father was excellent. Yes, he may be a little much at times, but he really steps it up when it comes to helping and supporting his children.

I’ve compiled a list of ten examples that support my opinion that Phil Dunphy is the best father on television. For you Modern Family fans out there, you will agree, I have no doubt. For those of you who have never seen an episode of the beloved show, I’m sure this list will strike a chord and perhaps you’ll give it a try.

Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Spanish giants Barcelona, according to the Express.

Reports in Spain suggest the Catalan club are looking for short-term cover for the injured Lionel Messi, and Berbatov is on their list.

While manager Gerardo Martino is confident in the abilities of Neymar and Alexis Sanchez – who scored a brace against England in Chile’s 2-0 win at Wembley last Friday – he remains keen on adding experienced back-up to his squad.

Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and ex-Chelsea star Didier Drogba are also believed to be on Martino’s shortlist, though the possibility of landing Berbatov less expensively comes as a more realistic option.

The 32-year-old ex-Manchester United star could be lured to Spain by the possibility of one final big career move and the shot of playing at the highest levels once more, though it remains to be seen if his wage demands and expectation over regular playing time appeals to Barca.

Messi has been ruled out for the rest of the year with a hamstring tear and is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks, after picking up the injury against Real Betis last Sunday.

Since first being cancelled back in 2001, Family Guy has gone on to become one of the most popular animations in television history.

With a variety of comic books, video games and even a mock ‘film trilogy’ spawning from the Seth MacFarlane creation, the show’s rocky times now appear to have been put firmly to one side.

Nominated for thirteen Emmy Awards, with four wins, Family Guy is now into a remarkable 12th season, with its unique brand of risqu humour and cut-away gags winning over a legion of fans.

MacFarlane has also entertained his viewers by throwing in a variety of references, homages and parodies to some of cinema’s most famous films, with the Star Wars-centric ‘Blue Harvest’ being one of the best examples.

A variety of other films have also been given the Family Guy treatment and subjected to MacFarlane’s razor-sharp wit down the years, and here we bring to you the adult animation’s 20 Best Movie Homages & Parodies.

That classic ’90 s Nickelodeon cartoon, Hey Arnold. The height of childhood innocence, a story of a boy and a group of his school friends, it delves into the world of playground bullies and name-calling, schoolgirl crushes, but usually nothing more serious than that. Or so it seemed at first viewing.

If you re-watch it as an adult now, however, you’ll be shocked to learn some of the hidden gems within the show.

At this point we give a shout out to none other than Hitler for the cameo in the show. No, we’re deadly serious:

Hey Hitler

As a kid, you probably watched the show and didn’t have a clue who this was portraying, at least not to the extent you do now. Throughout are some more innuendos, references and hidden images from a cartoon masterpiece of our childhood that might just make you look back differently upon your early years… or you know, you might just chuckle at them like I did.

Doctor Who Tom Baker

Is the fourth Doctor Tom Baker a surprise cameo in the new 50th anniversary special?

Of course he was already in the most important 50th anniversary special, but now we’re getting word from The Huffington Post that he’s going to appear in the TV version as well.

“I am in the special,” said Baker. “I’m not supposed to tell you that, but I tell you that very willingly and specifically; the BBC told me not to tell anybody but I’m telling you straightaway.”

When asked to confirm, a representative from the BBC stated had this to say: “As with William Hartnell’s recent appearance in the last season finale, anything is possible in Doctor Who. But nothing is certain.”

Well, I’m sure the BBC will be very pleased with him for spilling the beans like that.

Baker famously refused to appear in the 20th anniversary special, “The Five Doctors”. He did come back for the 30th anniversary special, the appallingly bad “Dimensions in Time”, but that was it for the actor in his most famous role until he returned to it in audio format a few years ago.

As for what form his appearance in the special will take?

…Tom Baker’s scarf is seen in the special in some sort of a museum, worn by a woman who may be the character of the “Curator,” who collects paintings from the character’s adventures.

Well, then. At a guess we’re going to get the old “paintings come to life and talk to people” trope. That would, frankly, be a pretty brilliant way to get everyone back on the team.

Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Christopher Eccleston have all said they aren’t in the special. Paul McGann said that, too, and then turned up as the 8th Doctor in a little minisode. So…I guess at this point we wait and see. But I will say, if Tom Baker is in this, all bets are off as to who else might be.
