It might be weird for Parks and Recreation fans to watch Amy Poehler play Adam Scott‘s stepmother in the new film A.C.O.D.

But after watching the trailer a few times, there’s something about these two that work on screen, regardless of the dialogue they’re delivering and regardless of the relationship the characters have. Poehler and Scott are a match made in TV – and now big screen – heaven.

The new comedy tells the story of a man with A.C.O.D. (adult children of divorce), a term coined by his therapist (Jane Lynch), who’s actually not a therapist.

Between his parents hating each others’ guts and his little brother’s upcoming nuptials, our lead character goes on the mission to find himself.

Jessica Alba, Catherine O’Hara, Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine, Kick-Ass) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead also star in the film.

A.C.O.D. opens Oct. 4.
