As the loss of Happy Endings continues to eat a hole in the souls of anyone with a sense of what good television really is, one of its cast members has allegedly landed a new, yet very familiar, role.
According to E! News and TV Line, Damon Wayans Jr. has been confirmed to return to the cast of New Girl for its upcoming third season. Although a rep for 20th Century Fox told Celebuzz that the rumors are exactly that, only rumors, we’re holding out hope that this is really happening.
Wayans was cast on the show and filmed the pilot, but had to back out because of a prior commitment to the hilarious ABC comedy. He was abruptly replaced by Lamorne Morris, but never ever filled the shoes left behind by the roomate known only as Coach.
It’s unclear how his return will, if at all, affect Morris’ character, but lets hope Wayans can at least bring back the spark that’s been missing since he left.
