AMC late Tuesday canceled its low-rated series The Killing for a second time.

“We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with a fourth season of The Killing,” the network said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We want to thank our great partners at Fox Television Studios, creator Veena Sud, an extraordinary cast and the dedicated fans who watched.”

Ratings for the Emmy-nominated show dropped significantly after it failed to wrap up its “Who killed Rosie Larsen?” storyline in season 1, ultimately leading to its cancellation the following year. It was revived after the network struck a deal with FTVS, AMC and Netflix, which made way for a brand-new case and cast of characters.
