Archives for posts with tag: spread ’em

We love how Victoria Beckham is pushing seasoned models and actresses off the fronts of magazines this year! She’s been slaying since March!

And now we know what the designer’s secret photo shoot with Ellen Von Unwerth was for — the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore’s September issue!

Posh gives a smoldering stare in a seksi wine-colored sheath dress on the cover, then takes it all off in the spread, posing in satin knickers and a bralet, and heels, duh!

Victoria’s fashion spreads rarely disappoint. Keep ’em coming, please!

What a wonderful time to be a Selenator!

Selena Gomez is giving her fans A LOT to cheer for these days, what with her #1 album on Billboard and all this beautiful promo!

The latest is a cheeky cover for i-D magazine, featuring Selena wearing a Margaret Howell sweater and doing the signature winky face. Adorbs!

The full spread hasn’t been released yet, but a sneak peek (below) shows the 21-year-old getting her androgyny on in a John Varvatos coat, Dunham jeans, and Marni t-shirt.

The singer also talks about how much she loves to do shoots on location, saying:

“I love doing shoots overseas. Actually being there and feeling the environment adds a realness to the shoot. It’s so easy to wear incredible, beautiful dresses and look super glamorous, because you have the power of Photoshop, but a shoot that’s really stripped-down and raw is really fun to do. I was being rained on, it was freezing, I was covered in a giant sweater and my hair was all over the place. I got to just be in that moment and feel like I was there.”

Yes, we imagine traveling all over the world to take photos is a blast!

Rooney Mara shows off her gothic good looks on the cover of Interview magazine’s March issue.

Wearing a black Calvin Klein bustier dress, the actress casts an electrifying gaze into the camera.

It’s srsly hypnotizing if you stare at it too long!

For the inside black and white shots, Rooney wears a long checkered Marc Jacobs gown that matches the checkered floor she’s standing on and a draped strapless Balenciaga dress, just to name a few.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again–she’d make a PERFECT vampire.

Her agent should get in touch with the casting director at True Blood! Ha!

DuJour magazine was lucky enough to snag Kim Kardashian for her first post-pregnancy announcement photo shoot!

Though the bump wasn’t yet visible when the photos were taken, this spread is still the first to feature professional shots of the little Kimbryo!

These pics should be framed and hung all over the place!

Lensed by Bruce Weber, the shots feature Kim frolicking in the pool in a Karla Colletto bra, banging on bongos in a print Cia Maritima skirt, playing with bead necklaces in a Donna Karan plunge dress, and lounging about swaddled in fluffy Hermes beach towels.

Like Nicola Formichetti, the stylist for this particular shoot also had a difficult time procuring designer goodies for Kimmy.

Co-editor Keith Pollack explained:

“I think there’s some hesitation to work with Kim just because she doesn’t necessarily fit with most luxury brands’ visions. Luckily with Bruce, we didn’t try to create a fashion shoot. Formichetti was really trying to position her as a fashion force but we went the opposite way. It was about showing her in more a natural way. We went really minimal with makeup. There are very few fashion credits. In one shot she’s wearing towels. And despite the hesitation from these brands-she’s still wearing Gucci and Chanel and Lanvin even if they’re not lending it to her. She can buy them. So we thought, “Let’s not make this a fashion story.”

If the lack of designer support bothered the Kim, though, it certainly didn’t come up during the interview.

Instead, the 32-year-old talks candidly about her personal style and dressing for her body type, telling the mag:

“I think because I have big boobs it could make me look heavier if I don’t, like, show off my waist or something, so I just have kind of learned to dress one way only. Khlo can wear flowy, pretty things because she’s really tall. Kourtney is, like, really little. I’m just kind of in between, so it doesn’t really work.”

And when her manicurist steps out for a minute, Kim takes on the duties herself, saying:

“I used to have to do this myself all the time, manicures and whatnot. I actually like it. It’s sort of like meditation.”

Forced to do her own nails and she actually enjoys it?! We’re impressed!

Because one cover wasn’t enough…

Gwyneth Paltrow is a pastel princess on the cover of InStyle UK’s first issue of 2013.

While the actress may look pretty comfy in a pink and white Jil Sander coat, we can’t get over the ridiculous amount of airbrushing they did to her face!

Yikes!

Inside the mag’s pages, didn’t do as much damage to Gwyneth’s face as she posed in Armani Prive and Atelier Versace.

Sigh. When are they going to stop doing this to her.

We know; never.

Oh well. Check out the rest of her spread (below)!

We like Kate Moss as a super blonde!!

The sultry supermodel is spreading her Sex, Drugs, and Johnny Depp love all over Vanity Fair‘s December issue, and she couldn’t look anymore stunning!

Miz Moss was captured by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, while wearing a netted top adorned with pasties.

And during her interview, she shared deets on her 1992 Calvin Klein photo shoot that made her career take off, posing nude and becoming a poster girl for Heroin Chic.

Here are the HIGHlights:

On her Calvin Klein shoot:

“I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18, when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts. It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die.”

On posing nude:

“I see a 16-year-old now, and to ask her to take her clothes off would feel really weird. But they were like, If you don’t do it, then we’re not going to book you again. So I’d lock myself in the toilet and cry and then come out and do it. I never felt very comfortable about it. There’s a lot of boobs. I hated my boobs! Because I was flat-chested. And I had a big mole on one. That picture of me running down the beach-I’ll never forget doing that, because I made the hairdresser, who was the only man on the shoot, turn his back.”

On becoming a Heroin Chic:

“I had never even taken heroin-it was nothing to do with me at all. I think Corinne-she wasn’t on heroin but always loved that Lou Reed song, that whole glamorizing the squat, white-and-black and sparse and thin, and girls with dark eyes. She loved that look. I was thin, but that’s because I was doing shows, working really hard. At that time, I was staying at a B and B in Milan, and you’d get home from work and there was no food. You’d get to work in the morning, there was no food. Nobody took you out for lunch when I started. Carla Bruni took me out for lunch once. She was really nice. Otherwise, you don’t get fed. But I was never anorexic. They knew it wasn’t true-otherwise I wouldn’t be able to work.”

DAYUM, sounds like Kate sure did have an amusing life, but interestingly enough, she admitted that she is now “quite settled.”

However, that doesn’t mean she’s not one to stir up some publicity!!
