new-star-wars-trilogy-writers-chosen

Now that Disney has acquired the Star Wars franchise and announced a brand new trilogy in the works, there’s been all sorts of speculation about who will be selected to helm the next generation of the sci-fi epic!

But in the meantime, the House of Mouse has been busy securing their writers for ALL THREE movies…and for one of the three chosen, this won’t be his first time scripting the world in a galaxy far, far away!

And the other two aren’t too shabby, either!

According to reports, Michael Arndt — who won an Academy Award for writing Little Miss Sunshine, as well being responsible for Toy Story 3 and the upcoming Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire — has been tapped to pen Episode XII.

Sources close to production have revealed he’s already come up with a 30-40 page OUTLINE of the story he wants to tell!

Holy SHIZ! The ball is ROLLING!

Meanwhile, Lawrence Kasdan, responsible for previous entries The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, has been selected along with Simon Kinberg, known for Sherlock Holmes and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, to take on Episodes XIII and IX!

AH-mazing!

They’ve clearly found quite the combination of emerging new talent and someone with experience telling this type of story, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the direction this new Star Wars will take!

What do U think?? Are U pleased with the new writing team??
